Another really novice question-header install...
I have never wrenched on a Mopar having bought my '72 'Cuda one year ago in road-ready condition. During my mispent young I drove and worked on....gulp...chevies! What was I thinking!
Anyway. I'm installing headers soon - Hedman 340 block huggers. I had read somewhere when you remove the exhaust manifold bolts, you will be draining some antifreeze. True? If so, how much can I expect to loose? Will the mess be significant or only a little bit. thanks for any reads/responses. Eric Z Plymouth, Michigan 1972 'Cuda 340 4 spd |

Drain the rad first, or you will have wet shoes and a messy garage floor.

That is true. You should drain the radiator while the engine is warm so the block drains also. Look to see if there are studs in the front locations on both sides. and the rear locations on both sides. Those 4 are the ones that go into the water jacket. You should be ready with putting bolts in those locations also.

easy610, if there are no studs and you have bolts in the front and rear on the heads, when replacing them, use some copper rtv on the bolts just prior to reinstalling them, or you will have leaks upon re-filling your radiator. Trust me on this, I'm speaking from experience.
