Question Distance between timing marks on /6 flywheel

I recently set the valves on my 76 /6. When I helped a friend of mine do this to his 80 I remember that his damper pully had 3 lines etched in it at 120 degrees apart. This made it very easy to set the valves because we knew exactly where tdc was for any given cyl using the marks and the rotor.

I went to do my 76 and found my damper has only 1 groove on it.
I set the valves by finding tdc on #1 and then using the rotor to figure out which cyl was at tdc. I think it worked ok as the car seems to run better.

Still, I want to make sure I get it perfect. Anyone know the actual linerar distance between the marks on the damper with 3 lines?

I am sure I could figure it out myself using some math and a felxible tape measure but I thought Id ask here first in case some one might know.

Thanks
Charles

Your freind set the valves on his '80 slant six? That was the first year for hydraulic lifters, the rockers were nonajustable. His motor must have been swapped for an earlier model.
I haven't seen a triple marked balancer, I've seen about a dozen and they were all single marked.
There are two ways to set valves. One is with motor running. A vaccum gauge can be used with this mehod but not neccessary. The other method with motor off. It's easier to set all int. then all exh., instead of switching back and forth. Bump motor or turn it by the belt (real easy with spark plugs out), put pressure on belt and turn fan. Turn till exh. rocker just starts to open, then set int. Do all six front to rear. Then turn till int. rocker just closes, then set exh. Of course repeat six times.
Stock cam sets .010 int., .020 exh.
