Thumbs up Thank you cuda66273 (Don)! If someone needs something he can get, buy from him

I hope this is the correct place to post this since I really wanted to give this information out to the people of the Performance forum...

I recently purchased a Speed Demon 650 cfm (Vacuum secondary) from cuda66273 (Don). You can consider this a customer testimonial...

Not being very familiar with Demon carbs I needed some assistance with picking one out. From the initial day of contact (with my email) he was extremely knowledgeable (obviously from his posts here ) and helpful. Once we went through my combination, he selected out a carb - the Speed Demon 650 cfm to replace my old Holley (it also was a 650 cfm). Once the selection was made, I made the payment, and I eagerly awaited for the carb to arrive via UPS. It took about a week to get via UPS ground. Unfortunately it was really cold out, so I had to wait a couple of weeks before putting it in. During this time I read his Demon Tuning 101 to prepare myself for the fun that awaited.

The weeks passed, it got warm and I was very eager to install the carb. With a friend's help I got it installed. After install it obviously needed some adjustments. I gave (Don) cuda66273 a call...

Let me start of by saying I have never met or talked to anyone as patient as him. I will admit that I am just starting to delve into the fun that is Mopar so I am a little green (probably a lot green ). All said and done with all the adjustments we had to make we talked about 2 hours (not the whole time - call, make an adjustment, take the car for a ride, come back, call, make an adjustment, etc.). He walked me through every step over the phone and helped me to troubleshoot some vacuum and carb adjustment issues. After we were done, I noticed a significant improvement in throttle response and driveability. I am so happy!!

I can honestly say that I have never received better service, whether for car parts or anything else I have ever purchased. Do yourself a favor, if you need a carb - buy from this man.

I know he sells other parts than just carbs. Anything that I need that is stocked by him, I will be purchasing from him. I have become a permanent customer.

Thank you very much Don!
Bob

Exclamation Congrats

First let me say I'm glad you are happy with your carb and setup.
Don, from your past post and from the testimonial I am sure you are someone to be respected. Thanks for sharing with others and being what you propose yourself to be.

Cuda66273 has a pretty good web site as well! I wish he would get the Racer Brown Cam grinds on his site! There are a few personal sites out there that have good mopar tech stuff. Don's site is gradually, becoming one of those.

Thanks Bob...and everyone else for your kind words...it's the way we do business, every customer is very important, whether you need 10 ft of wire or a full fuel system.

As we state on our website:

"Tuning help is just a part of the service we offer with every carb we sell. I'm personally available to walk you through the installation and tuning process most days, evenings and even on weekends between rounds.

We also have a guaranteed jetting program, if you have the knowledge and experience to determine what jets you require, just send in the old ones and we'll send you the new sized jets at NO CHARGE. If your not sure call and I'll teach you how to do a plug check, send me a couple of plugs, I'll read them and send the correct jets for your altitude and engine.

Power valve not correct?...No problem, send us the old and we'll send you a new one...NO CHARGE. We also change the P/V on every carb we sell if needed to suit your engine vacuum, before we ship.

We do a pre-delivery inspection and adjust the 4 corner bleeds to the baseline, set the accelerator pumps, preset the idle speed screws, re-jet to extreme altitudes, check every screw and bolt for correct tork..and......

Our prices are the same as the big mail order houses and the No-Service Ebay peddlers, but as you can see our customer service is just slightly better...:-))

I'll be adding a FAQ section soon, in the meantime if you need some help with correct carb selection or tuning, call me, even if you DON'T PLAN ON BUYING FROM US we're more than willing to help you out. Barry Grant, Jerry, Mike and the other Guy's and Gal's look after us very well and we'll help you out no matter where your Demon came from."

...and we stand by this policy.

Thanks Again
Don

I hope to get everything installed soon and look forward to talking to Don again. All need to decide where to put my new FBO decal. Maybe the first one in Northern Califorina.

"Hello...Deist...I need a new helmut....do you make them in size 12.5...XXXXl"...

We're working hard to be the best...staying small enough to offer top knotch personal service. Our tech line is the most important phone call we get...I wish I could just talk Mopars all day but we need to sell a few things to pay the bills....

Thanks Again

I agree. I just talked to Don yesterday, and is very knowledgeable and helpful! I ordered my RB cam, lifters, springs, and custom head gaskets, i can't wait to get everything and get this 340 put back together! I am confident that with his knowledge and help I can make this 340 a beast in my Dart. Thanks Don. I wonder what kind of power I will make when all is said and done....hmmmmm?

While we're on this topic of "Custom Head Gaskets"

Everyone think about this...

318-3.910 bore
340- 4.040 bore
360- 4.00 bore

Now look at the spec on a Felpro HP gasket.......4.180 or 4.155

So now calculate the cc's of that huge gap between the block and the head in that bore gap.

If you use that Felpro gasket you just lost .3-.5 points of compression.

Now look at the thickness....Felpro .039-.040

Zero deck block with closed chamber head piston quench or clearance is .034-.035.

Run that number through your CID Calculator.

The correct gasket bore diameter, thickness and a .010 clean-up cut added .7 points of compression on my little 318.....do the math you'll see the MLS Cometic gaskets are just one more edge to make Mo-Power...maybe we will hit the 11's with that 318 yet?

I thought I would add my .02 Its not everyday you meet someone who will spend the time to help you out with a problem and not expect anything in return. Don is clearly dedicated to customer satisfaction as I can attest to. I only wish there were more people out there that put as much into their work, and craftsmanship as he does. Bravo Don.
