Default Trany Troubles

The car is a 72 Duster \6 with 904. the problem is the car will start in park or neutral and run at idle, the tranny is full of fluid. The trans will not engage any gears forward or reverse, abou 15,000 miles since last overhaul. Any suggestions?

Input shaft broken, torque converter broken, valve body problems, linkage unhooked or broken ?

I'd wager the tangs that drive the front pump have broken off.

Thanks for the responses, the consesus appears that something happened to the pump or input shaft. THANX
