Default Competition Engineering rear shocks

I picked up a set of these at a swap meet for my Dak. I'm just playing around with them and the adjustment.. however when I turn the shaft, it clicks like it should, but the index mark on it doesnt line up with any of the marks on the body. Plus, i can turn it one direction forever and it keeps clicking, the other way it finds a stop after a few clicks. How do i know which setting its at??

The shock wont adjust unless you take it off the truck and fully colapse it. This is when the adjuster works. It only has three settings so turn the shaft to line it up on the middle mark before you compress it. Then just feel for the clicks. If it stops in one direction then go the other way counting clicks.

yeah, i have them off the truck, and fully compressed. I just figured they'd only click 3 times... and would line up with the marks when it clicks. It turns like 120* between clicks

No you have to line it up before you compress it. Best to turn it till it wont move then exstend the shock, line up the mark on the last position ans recompress and go from there. I had a set on a Duster one time. There o.k. I guess.
