I have a 273 that is 30over with JE 10.5:1 pistons. It has a 224/230 degree cam at 50 and .501/.510 lift with 1.6 rockers. I have minor headwork that includes blending the bowls, port matching, and upsized to 1.88/ 1.60 stainless valves. The engine is topped off with a 70' 340 cast intake with a 600 ZHolley double pumper. The tranny is a 904 with a TCI Street Fighter torque coveter which is advertised around 3000 stall(don't know how to check for sure). The gears are switched between 4.56 where I go through the traps at 6500 RPM to 4.88's where I go through the traps at 6800 RPM. I shift at 6500 RPM. I know my stock intake is not good for these RPM ranges, but I don't knoww what kind of intake to go with. I'd like to stick with mother Mopar, but will be willing to switch companies if it will fit my application better. Can anyone solve this $200 dollar problem for me. I only have enough money to make the right descision. Thanks.

If this is a drag car only,go with the single plane. If it's a dual purpose car, stick with what you've got.The only things you'll gain with the M-1 dual plane is lighter weight and a lighter wallet.Remember stock eliminator drag cars have to use the stock intake and they buzz up to 6800.Don't write off that cast iron lung yet.

Thanks guys, so you think that the single plane will be alright? I hope so because I don't have another $200 bucks to waist. Also do you think that it will dump my torque or do you think it will bring me up a little in torque? Thanks again. Steve

Mother is not the only place to get an intake. I run an torker 340. Which is an medeium rise 2500-6500rpm range. The m-1 is 3000 to 3500-7000. I think a bit overkill for a small motor. What heads are you using?
Check what ranges they work in and make sure they work with your heads.

I'm using the stock 273 heads that have been port matched , bowls blended, and valves upsized to 1.88/1.60.

Choose an intake that has the same port size if you use a big port intake it will hurt your low end. I have had good luck out of the torker's. It does'nt have to be wild or exotic to work good.
