I don't have any books with photos from the TransAm racing period so I'm wondering if anyone knows what type of wheels were used on the E-bodies. A recent mag has an ad for some posters and it almost looks like the front wheel is a flat-spoked (maybe 5-6)white wheel. Anyone know?

Thumbs up

im pretty confident that on the aar's they had white 15x8 6 spoke magnesium wheels front and back and with the t/a's i think they had silver 15x8 6 spoke magnesium wheels front and back. this is all correct but im unsure if they are 6 or 7 spoke.

The wheels used on Trans Am cudas and challengers were 8 spoke minilits also known as superlites. I think the fitment was listed 15x7 front 15x8 rear.

If were asking what wheel came out on the factory 701/2 AAR's, T/A's?. They were all 15-7 rally's paint ardent silver. The wheel has outter scaloped holes. Front tires were E-60 15 GOODYEAR POLYGLASS. And the rear tires were G-60 15 POLYGLASS. Rims were stamped steel with silver centers (held to wheel from behind w/5 small bolts). Also the same 15-7 wheel came on other HEMI, 440-6 cars. A simular wheel 14-6,14-51/2 was used on alot of E-body cars. The 15-7 wheel is now remade by YEAR ONE. And a rim manufactor in SAC,CA well turn your 15-7 into a 8 or 9 inch wheel.

The Trans Am cars used to run on 8-spoke minilites. most of them were painted white, at least the AAR Cudas. I seem to recall the Doge T/A's also with white rims.

The minilites are available from www.vintagewheelworks.com

They also carry a 5-spoke torq-thrust lookalike. Good luck.
