Im looking for a 5-6 speed for my 72 duster. I want atleast a .70 gear ratio for cruising. How hard would it be to adapt a t-56 from a late model camero to fit my 360? Would it require major modifications and headaches or with the right parts and a little pounding would it work out?

lots, lots, lots, and did i say any thing about a lot of troble, i would go with mother mopar on this one. they made a o.d. 4speed just for a small block, has a lower 1st and a .73overdrive and it bolts right in! save your money buy a 456 or 430 gear terroize fords and chevys in the first 3 gears bang 4th an have a .313 with 430 gear or .332 with 456 gear. best of both worlds, best of all swap meets they go for about 90 to 125 dollars. one thing o.d. trans has larger bng. housing you'll need to have your bell housing enlarged or find late bell /h. that would be my choice. lots of luck! gilbo out.
