Gripe Center force dual friction clutch (E-BODY)

Anybody out there ever install a centerforce dual friction clutch on a e-body? Did you remove the over center spring from the clutch pedal assembly at all? Let me know!

Thanks

Charlie B.

Hi Blown

Yes I have a centerforce dual friction on my wife's 440 charger and I did remove the help spring on the clutch pedal.
It works great.

Good luck

I had one in my car since '94. It's seen many trips down the quarter, many burnout and thousands of start/stops. My question is, "Why are people removing the inside clutch return spring and are you guys racing or street driving these cars?"

Thanks,

I put my DF in last year. The spring is still there. Work great!
The reason for removing it is, some cars clutch pedal stays on the floor at hi RPM drops I think.

In the instuction from centerforce they had printed that you should remove the spring or the clutch pedal could stay on the floor at hi RPM actions.
Just as 70 Barracuda says.

Does CF define high RPM action. I currently shift at 6400 r's. I don't recall seeing this note in my pre 1994 CF instructions. Maybe it was added after this date. I believe I have my instructions somewhere, I see if i can locate them and have a look. If someone could scan the document and post it, I'd be very greatful. Of course I could probably go to their website and see if they have a copy of the instructions there.

Thanks,
