Waterpumps????????
Well after having just removed my stock water pump and housing I now know why people go to aluminum units.. man that thing is an anchor..LOL
any way.. any good suggestions for an alum unit... I'm using it on my 440 in a 1980 Power Wagon. what about the electrics for a daily driver?? can I run my heater with an electric??? I would deffinately like a high flow pump just to ensure the cooler motor. Thanx Blygy |

i know some people on this board run electrics on the street, i wouldn't do it for a couple of reasons.
1) replacement if you need to say on a trip or something away from home. 2) i simply don't trust the electric unit to do the job of the belt driven unit out in the day to day grind of traffic. btw, i believe most of the parasitic hp loss from that belt driven unit originates in the fan anyway, so dual electric fans and factory pump might be the way to go if you are looking for a cheap boost in performance. sean |
