360 73
I have a 73 360 i was wondering what size valves it has.Should i find different heads?Maybe put 2.02 valves in?HELP!

Is there a "J", "U", or "O" near the spark plug holes? They should have 1.88/1.60 valves. You can also pull a valve cover and post the casting number located on an intake runner. I can look it up then.

Your 360 has 1.88 intake valves, If it is going to be a street driven engine, you might be better off with the 1.88s. Your intake charge will have better velocity and you should have good throttle responce. Dennis Jokela |

I dont think the 360 was ever offered with the 2.02 valve maybe wrong though. In the late 70's The LiL Red Express may had them. I think it would be a good idea for the large valves, when tring to acheive max out put.

I forgot to say it was a 2bbl does this change anything?

A 73 360 should have J or U heads with 1.88 intakes. Put the 2.02s in and bowl port the heads, and make lots of power.
