Default 71 RR radio

Hi,

I've got a 71 RR. Both voulme and tunner knobs are located side by side. I would like to upgrage to an AM/FM CD.

Anyone know if such a unit is available for in-dash install?

Thanks,

Tom

well u can do one of 4 things but not all 1. you can out your dash and put it there or...2. you can go to your local best buy and get a under dash shroud and mount it under your dash(i now that best buy has them because i work there) or.....3. you can mount it in your glove box.or....4. you can get the custom auto sound from year one but that is a lot of ching and it is a hidden radio and the changer is extra

Sounds like under dash may be the way to go.

I'll check it out at best buy,

Thanks,

Tom

There is another option- you can have your factory unit upgraded to modern board like I did with mine. Looks like stock but puts out 22 watts in to 2 or 4 speakers. And you can upgrade to a 6 or 8 cd player- remote controlled/ mounted.
While I haven't had a chance to install it yet,( splicing that darned factory sunroof in is taking a bit longer than I thought)-but I had the guy put in a pair of line out jacks so i can run a hidden EQ, Power amp, 4 speakers and a sub- all through a stock looking radio. The place I had do mine was S&M electrotech out of blaine minnesota. the guy does nice work.
