MAX WEDGE - Congrats!! As I told Christopher, I'll try to keep the "gang" up on any rumors I hear from NHRA.

BTW, anyone tell me what year MoPar won EVERY eliminator category at the U.S. Nationals?? -- 1971. Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Modified Production Eliminator, Super Stock Eliminator, and Stock Eliminator. Jeeeepers, those WERE the days!!!

i too feel lucky, and honored to be selected as a moderator. I hope that many of the rumers come to be true, it has been a real long time since Ma Mopar has been on the move as far as giving the customer something that they not only can use and like, but something that can put a fire in your belly and passion into the company.
I am excited about the New Hemi, and the possible future Charger R/T and the New V-10.
I hope that they (DiamlerChrysler) will continue to want people to be enthusuastic about there products, and I hope they continue to make things that will be Rumor worthy and exciting!!

otherwise this board will be boring.

anyway, I am excited
thanks guys for your words
Maxwedge

Congrats to all who made moderators! You all seem to deserve it from what I have been reading on all of your inputs to this board. While I am here I guess I can tell ya'll on what I have heard. My Dodge dealer here said the Nickens race shop (not far from me) is doing all the engine testing for NASCAR and the Craftsman trucks. They even told me that they are trying to approve a "Hemi" for the Craftsman truck series. I guess we will see more later on. Happy New Year everyone!!!

I suspected that the Hemi was going to be developed for NASCAR.It just makes sense to do so.I still think that was the cylinder head Chrysler was showing to all of the WC crew chiefs back in August.

hey guys and gals, wasn't this thread about me???blink blink blink
unless things have changed, im not a car guys, really..
LOL
anyway
I will buy two chargers if they put a Hemi motor in it, at least a hemi that won't shame itself by putting out some tiny Hp rating, like the ford 4.7 (with the huge 225bhp)

No big deal about starting a discussion on the Charger, I LOVE THAT CAR. I saw it this last fall at the Kruse Auction In Auburn Indiana..Took My breath away
(Can you tell I'm a car guy?)
and as far as the car I drive, someday I will be driving a 1968 RoadRunner that I have been restoring for the past 3 years. maybe in the spring I will be able to drive it without any bugs??
Breaklights and winshield wipers that work consistantly are really pretty cool!

I too am dying to get ahold of a new Charger. I have a 68 and a 69 R/T SE and will be insulted if there is not a 2 door version of the new Charger. I am hearing that the R/T version of the new Charger will be supercharged...can't wait!

No, I havent been there, but I do believe it is still open. Most of the dragways by me have closed. Avilla was my home the last year it was open. It has since gone the way most tracks go, that is it now is an industrial park.
SUCK!!!!
I now Go to the Indy Race Park a few times a year. I got a few non-mopar friends down there that race. I havent run my Roadrunner yet, maybe this spring

Maxwedge, i will let you know this spring when my freinds and i start racing again. Maybe you can come out and run your car or just enjoy the racing. There are several mopars that race there.
Do you get down to Decatur much? on the outside of town on the east end, there is a primered 70 or 71 duster i've seen the last two years in route to the nats. I've been thinking about going there on a weekend and asking if it's for sale. It has not moved in at least two years that i know of.

yeah, i have been there a few times. Was there something special about the duster?
i love driving down back roads and finding cool old cars. I know where ther is a running 68 charger R/T, 4 gear, that runs in Ft. Wayne. Its ragged out pretty bad and the guy still won't sell it.
I hate people like that.

Maxwedge, there was nothing particuarly special about the duster. It was sitting at a farm house right on the road. You could'nt miss it. I'm always looking for deals but especially dusters. I would like to have a spare body and chassis here if i ever need parts. Right now i'm looking for a rear bumper in decent shape. My duster is a 1970.
Sorry for the thumbs down on previous reply, the icons are kinda confusing as to which bubble to click on for the correct icon.
