Just go to the DC web site and take a look at Chrysler's concept cars (under the "About Chrysler" tab). The car is a 2-door convertible with a 353cid Hemi V8 driving, naturally, the rear wheels.
Also Check out the most beautiful car in the world, IMHO, the Chronos. |

I have seen several pictures of this 300Hemi Convertible. It is truly beautiful.
But, I have a 99 300M, and I am less than thrilled with it. I am a diehard Mopar fan, but Chrysler is gonna have to do better with quality control to keep me interested in their new stuff. Hey aspense....I am in Utah too. You know of any Mopar events around here? Quote:

I wonder how similar the new 353 hemi is to the old 354 Hemi in so far as Piston Geometry is concerned??The old motor had a 3.92 inch bore and 3.625 inch stroke.
the old thought was that the stroke should equal 91-92% of the bore distance to be ideal. Another Ideal was or IS a rod ratio as close to 2.00 as you can get and a rod angle of not more than 17 degrees. the old 354 was pretty Ideal with those also in that its Rod Ratio was 1.81(a 350 chevy had a 1.6,can we say oval bore shape after 100k miles)As well as a rod angle of 15.897 (a 350 has 17.77). I bet that the new 353 is very similar to the old 354..I would love to see it in a car. |

I think we will see the new 353 race hemi with a bore of 4.125", stroke of 3.305", rod length of 6.200" and deck height of 9.100" or less. Why? Because that basically fits the confines of the Nascar rules. My guess only.

I saw the 300C convertible at Chicago Auto Show. I plan on retiring in 2003 and that's when DC is suppose to introduce the 300C. Guess what I'm gonna buy in 2003?? (Assuming it aint to pricy?!?)
In my days of engine design in college -- back in the 60s Optimum stroke was 90 to 95% of the bore. Then came the the Ford 289 with a bore of 4.00 and a stroke of 2.87!! Wow -- high revving but no HP. Became an air pump!! Then in the early 70s GM built the 455 engines -- they were "oversquare" -- stroke was bigger than the bore. No revs but gobs of torque. Interesting with the 353 hemi seems that the Mopar boys have got everything about right. At the auto show, however, all we saw was a small block Mopar with W-8 cylinder heads right next to the Evernham Dodge NASCAR Intrepid. Jeeeepers -- that combination aint gonna go nowhere. Oh well. . .11 months to NASCAR. JC |
