I had to make extensive modifications to #5 and 6 on my 400. the plug was practically touching the headers.

Had to heat the tubes and squeeze them a bit, to clear the wire.

Mine were Dyno max, so I figured that was why. (they were only $200 canadian/$140 usd)

hey... any info on the champion plugs would be really appreciated, cause i cant find numbers for them, and i sure as hell dont relish the idea of paying $4 a spark plug for the accels. the accel # is 8197, by the way.

oh... and if anyone has any info on fender headers for an '84 D250 (i mean headers that exit the engine compartment through the fender and go over the frame, then down behind the wheel), i would be greatly appreciative. (you can't have my dodge, but i might trade my first-born) lol

Darren,

Since this is a 400 and you have a 318 i don't think that you can make an acuarrate comparison here because the plug angling and positioning is completely different between big blocks and small blocks.

eddie,

I haven't had problems with the #2, but like dave I have problems with the #3 and the #6 plugs.

dwc,

I have searched for shorty plugs form champion and i have't found a set yet. I am having trouble decyphering there hyrogliphics. They just don't come out and specify a short plug for the 361-440 motors like accell does.
