i would think just some turned down pipes... i only say that cause thats what came stock on my brothers 440 ('71 satellite). it had stock manifolds, some kind of new quiet muffler, but the stock, small pipes...

we put some headers, and 2 1/2" pipes to some shorty glasspacks, and chrome tips man, that thing sounds awesome!

just my $0.02

The only way to know for sure is looking at the Broadcast/build sheet. It will discribe anything you whanna know about your car. Pull the the back seat and look under the springs. It may be there. Its usually under the one your back rests on. Goo luck on Encrypting it!

Pardon me, but what is a "Deputy"?? The ones we have in Oregon have turned down mouths, but I really can't say what their "pipes" are like - and... not only that, I don't think I want to know!

The deputy was a package for the Challenger i believe? If it is an original California car it would not have tips from about 70 on up. The CA cars in the 70's had turned down exhausts by the rear valance on just about anything. Something to do with emissions at that time. My Bee is a CA car and it came with the stock steel valance that did not have the dual cut outs. If you have the original rear valance and it has two rectangular notches (Assuming Challenger) then it had chrome tips. If not then it was turned down.
