what will i run/et
getting ready to fire my motor tomorrow,wondering what it will run in the 1/4. i have a 474 with a 6 pac edelbrock heads mild port job hooker 1 7/8 3500 stall ,ss spings ,507 custom grind cam pinion snubber chrome box 391 gear 28/10.5 mickeys9.75 to 1. just fishing around for some numbers to shot for. probably have alot of tuning before i go to the track,but would like to know what you guys think. its in a 69 roadrunner

12.95 MAYBE. You didnt state the weight.
I dont know if this is a street car or a race car. But I think your headers are too small for that many cubes. Your cam sounds a bit small too. I would have went more lift for sure with that many cubes, you still could have had the same duration built into it to keep it driving well on the street. Your convertor sounds about right if it will stall there. Gears probably pretty close, with 28 tall tires. If this is more of a street car and just going to do some running I think you will be happy. If you have more ideas of racing it you can benefit by bumping some things up. I hope you have nothing smaller than an Holley type 850 on it. |

If ya go with a drag slick around 10-11 inch wide and hook well. Should see mid to low 12 sec. I think Kevin is right about the cam and headers. Go to a 1.6 ratio rocker arm and you will see .541 valve lift with the same cam.
