69 c-body disc brake swap
Anybody know what spindle will work in one of these big things?
I'm thinking a diplomat spindle would be a good candidate, as it is taller than the A body one we all use for the B car swaps. I don't get asked about C- body stuff very often. Any input appreciated. |

Dave:
You have to use 69-73 C-body spindles only. Do a search in the tech forums for a post by Old hippie where he outlines the details. Also, this is handy: http://www.moparaction.com/Tech/archive/disc-main.html |

http://pub54.ezboard.com/fmotorcitym...icID=470.topic Need the 1973 spindles, ideally. The shoulder on the spindle itself is larger diameter than the 1971-1972 Kelsey Hayes (avoid the Budd pieces as they're expensive to repair and find the right parts for; not to mention awesomely heavy). The 1971-2 disc rotor has come down in price if you can't find 1973 pieces. Short story: Get everything off of a 1973 donor -- everything -- and swap it in. |
