Question

HI everyone, i'm new!

Anyway i recently bought a 70' Dart 340 Swinger but it has a 72 or 73 318 in it!
The 318 has a Rv Cam, new heads, ld4b edelbrock intake, holly 4-bbl carb, electronic ignition, headers, dual flowmasters exhalst, 4-speed hurst, 3.91 posi

I think the combo is making at least 300hp!
I already beat worked 302's and 350's! Anyone any ideas!!!???

Also does anyone know what kind of lifters it has-hydulaic or mechanical!!!???

Check out the posting on M body Quarter Miles that I posted. Tim_K wrote that he had a 318 that he built up and at three seperate stages it made 150, 170, then when built similar to yours, about 190 hp net. With the RV cam and the ld4b manifold I would bet it is putting out close to 300 lbs/ft of torque though. Sounds like fun in any form,

Why not get more scientific than guessing by weighing your car and then going out on a straight flat road w/no traffic and measure off to the foot(w/a 100ft tape) a 1/4 mi and let a buddy time you while you drive? and even if your accuracy is off a little you'll still be in the ball park.W/o more info who knows? we would need cam specs, compression, valve sizes, too much guessing is just that.It sounds like it runs well though if you beating most of the newer iron out there, remember when your racing anyone they may not be capable of driving a car to its full potential, most people are scared of a 15 sec car, so sometimes the results you get on the street could be misleading. So I'll guess anyhow not on hp but et.s,your probably somewhere in the mid 15s.........PRO....
