Project vehicle is a 1983 Dodge Ramcharger that has a 318 w/TQ. installing a 440 and BB 727 Tflite. The distributor on the 318 has two hookups to it, and the big block distributor MP only has one. Cut and terminate the second? Will this affect the running of the engine? Will be running the orange box and an MSD coil.

Good choice in motors!!! That will wake up that heavy ramcharger. The only lead you will be using will be the pick up lead from the distributor(the male female pronged black rubber one that is polarized).. Cut the other leads & terminate.
My last 3 trucks were converted to 440's & what a difference from the 318 & /6 V10 |

If your running an orange box dont even consider using the factory computer system, its dialed for an emissions 318,just go to Chrysler and buy a P3690152($16),this is the wiring harness to convert to MP ign. it will plug into your orange box and wire up to your coil and ballast resistor,if your truck doesn't originally have a ballast resistor then you;ll need a keyed hot wire to power it,just use the original hot wire that went to the coil on the 318 and youll run a new wire from the ballast resistor to the coil + and your done............PRO....
