PS-- Hey. Eagle makes titanium rods? Since when and whats the recommend on using titanium? I'd assume it was the benefits of aluminum and steel in one. Strength and indurance over a long period of time with the heat deal. Anyone?

Hah, in other words, if I understand what you were TRYING to convey, titanium rods are for top fuel? Any reason they couldn't be run in a gasoline engine? Besides their cost being astronomical?

Is there any particular reason for that? Something about the titanium? Is there an issue like aluminum rods in a daily driver or something of that nature? Or is that just becuase the only people that really need titanium rods are top fuelers. Thats my guess.

Default Aluminum Rods

Aluminum rods work on the drag strip. Most of the time you get around 200 runs on them before they need replacing, although I've seen claims up to 600 runs. I think the Fueler boys run the aluminum rods to help cushion the loads to keep the bearings from being pounded out. For the street, I'd run steel rods. I think the oval track guys use the titanium rods. You could check with Sanborn in the Circle Track section. I bet he's run them.
