Default Al commando heads.

Just curious, I see them listed different places for sale, but no one seems to use them. Why?

thats a good question...i'm also curious... i found some in my PAW book (not cheap), and i believe they're made by edelbrock... i added them to my "wish list ", along with a BDS 671 EFI blower, blower cam + pistons, kiesler 5 speed, 40"tubs, big slicks, ladder bar rear suspension with shortened axles, racing coil overs, 10 or 12 pt roll cage, painless wiring harness (18 circuit - electric fuel pump, and use pwr windows etc for other accessories) 22 gallon fuel cell... oy, the list goes on and on!

Default I guess no one knows?

I thought this was an easy question. I didn't plan to use them as I am light enough on the front end, I was just curious.

I seen a fella at another board purchase and port them for his use. He nailed down some respecable numbers from box stock to fully ported. I don'y remember the #'s, or the thread.
But there draw back is price. If your not swaping parts over from your allready equiped 2.02-1.60 head to the new one, it's not worth it.
Edelbrocks are far cheaper.

The price on the bare Mopar aluminum head has come down about $300 each in the past year or so. I think they are still over $599 each for a bare machined head. Still way above my budget.

From what info I have gathered, the Mopar heads are meatier to allow the creative types (with flowbenches) to get into the mid 300's flow and the Eddies are pretty good in stock form but not too much room for alterations. Same old story, "money buys speed, how fast do you want to go?"
