engine's condityion: let me know
I just did a compression test results low 165# high 175# 171.25 average, did a oil change and cut the filter open filter is very clean no signs of any metal. Can I ASSUME that this engines ready for a trip down to englishtown for the MOPAR Atlantic Nationals.
I just installed a pcv in the valve cover I think this will take care of the problem of the heavy gas smell in the oil,the level in the crankcase would not increase but the heavy gas smell was certainitly there. |

gas smell
usually, a gas smell in the oil is an indication of fuel getting in the crancase, most times through the fuel pump. you can buy a rebuild kit for the pump you have . but I wouldn't run it with fuel in the oil.

Or the fact that the carb is WAY to rich. Unless the oil is overflowing I owuld bet that it isn't the fuel pump. What carb do you have and has it been properly dialed in?
