Cool

Sounds great, wonder if DC will actually produce the car and will it be a two door or four door? I'd like to see a picture of it too. Anyone know where one might be found?

It looks like the Supercharger is an add-on maybe us 95 neon owners can add it to our engines?? I would like a 200 HP Neon kicking those rustangs butts or those slomaros. Especially in my FOUR Door Neon Sport

there's a nice little article about it in the new issue of Dodge Magazine for owners. 208 h.p., 5 speed, tuned suspension, limited slip. just what mother needs to make to send those ricers back where they came from...

lets just hope that it is done right. the Neon R/T was a joke. Samee motor that my 95 2-door and 98 4-door have with a cople of suspensiion mods and stripes. At least the Dakota had a new/bigger motor that hadn't been around in other things for years

Thumbs down

Saw a Neon yesterday with "custom" taillights. These things replaced the taillight assemblies, sliver with 2 small lenses for the red lamp and backup lamp. It was a black car with silver stripes. The taillights looked funny. They were an exact replacement for the stock assembly. Maybe they should be painted body color? Funny looking if silver.

Here is what the SRT looks like.

The interior looks OK too....

Here is what Dodge said about the SRT on their site:
Neon SRT takes today's "Super Street" hot rod scene to a new level of Dodge Different: a visionary vehicle that fulfills every cutting edge driver's demands, including cool design and extraordinary performance. Check out the "Combat styled" front fascia, projector beams, and touring-influenced side aperture to its super slick rear spoiler. SRT's pouncing stance is set forward and low--a full 11/2 inches lower than production Neons. That's because it has modified four-wheel independent suspension and customized springs. Rip up the road with SRT's 17-inch racing tires and aluminum alloy wheels.

And the hot rod influence doesn't end there. Settle into a cockpit of power featuring special racer-frame Agate leather seats with Lapis Blue inserts. Ignite the supercharged 16-valve 4-cylinder engine (208 horsepower at 6,200 rpm) and turn up the awesome Alpine in-dash CD changer/cassette/receiver with four large JBL speakers and two Infinity subwoofers. Unleash the heavy-duty five-speed manual transaxle and head out for street adventures yet unknown.

Neon SRT may be just a vision of the future now. But take it from the same street smart bunch who brought you Viper: sweet dreams really can come true.

I wonder if DC is thinking about bringing back the DOHC for the Neon.

Looks like they are filling the whole they made when they dropped the eagle Talon. This will be good for hotrodders with kids atleast. I stil think it looks too much like a rice rocket but I am partial to sleepers though.

<dd>Hmm. I say lose the Supra spoiler. A set of Eibach or Tokico springs should make it sit better, too...

Got a chance to check out Chrysler's engine development center and talk to some of the platform development groups. Among the many interesting things coming out, they were in the intermediate stages of testing a turbo 2.4L for the PT cruiser. After a little prodding, the guy admitted that it was also seriously being looked at for possible use in an upcoming Neon R/T version...

Question

<dd>Bah! Quit playing around with the Neon and develop a rear-wheel drive car platform.
