Thumbs up Hey Don! I ran into JR today...

Hey, I talked to JR today... He's buddies with my dad and did the distributor in my dad's Charger which runs awesome.
He said he was keeping pretty busy, so I guess that was a good thing.
Anyhow, I'm gonna have him do my distributor and was wondering what you think I should have him do it as?

Here's all the specs(that I can remember anyhow!)

Engine
'74 360 block, basic machine work, align hone bores, .020 overbore
cast crank cut .010 and polished, new balancer
340 rods, bushed for floating pins, lightened significantly by Dwayne Porter
Federal Mogul H116CP .020 Hyperecueatic pistons, moly rings
340 windage tray and main studs, factory pan
974 heads, factory 1.88/1.60 valves, 3 angle valve job, cut valve guides for clearence...
Hughes 2430 hydraulic cam, lifters and springs, .223/.230 dur @ .050, .504/.515 lift 110 LSA
installed 2 deg advanced
lifter valley baffle
stock rockers and shafts
dual row chain
You guessed it! Performer RPM intake manifol
Holley 670 Street Avenger
MP ignition kit with Orange box, I will do a drag strip comparison later with the Chrome ECU...
'78 Aspen w/ XHD cooling water pump, 8 blade
Hooker super comp 5115 1 3/4 headersM/T valve covers- just in case you were wondering!
Right now I just have the stock A/C radiator and a small tranny cooler, I will upgrade to a summit aluminum one
this summer if I have any problems
I'm also running a 6 blade clutch fan. I think I need a new clutch!
Everything was balanced and blue printed!

Now to the transmission...

'76 Dodge 3/4 ton 2 wd van core,
rebuilt with stock type clutches and everything
TransGo stage II shift kit
Hemi 5.0 kickdown lever
Lokar cable kickdown
Hughes 3000 stall converter
Max wedge spec governor, 5500 RPM shift points!(complements to Dennis!)

I'm going to put in an A 518 trans pan later, I would also like to upgrade to solid bands and a bolt in sprag later.
In the long run, I want to rollerize it and have Frank Lupo build me a converter, but, this is a starting point.

the rear end...

'69 Charger R/T '489 case with 3.23s and a tight cone... Rebuilt with a yukon bearing kit
Axles and housings from and unknown car... I think it was a '66 Fury. I got it from my engine builder who
snagged it for $50... I do know for sure that it is a bit narrower than my original 7 1/4.... my driver side brake
was 6 inches to long!
I got green bearing on my axles right now, but I'd like to go back to tapered ones later.
This summer, after my uncle puts a Dana 60 in his Charger, I'll have a 4.10 gear chunk I can try out.

I got XHD springs in the rear and a pinion snubber if that makes a difference.

I also lightened it some with an aluminum radiator and a mini starter, and I took the front outer bumper braces off, so I should be 50 lbs lighter with all that. Plus I moved the battery to the trunk...

I'm thinking I should have 22-24 degrees mechanical advance,
I'd like to have you set up a demon carburator for me, but I need to have you do a set of heads first!

Thanks Don!

Just give all the info to Jim and see what he says and I'll cross it on the spread sheet but I'll bet he's right on the money, him and I work very closely together on this Mopar stuff.

I'll guarrantee you that the orange box is junk and the chrome on is not much better but have JR run them up and he'll confirm that.

I will soon have OUR OWN line of boxes for Mopars....announcment coming soon, this is not a offshore deal, these are built exclusively for us right here in the USA and available only from us.

They will out perform any Mopar box made and be competively priced.

Hang on were about 30 days away.

Hey Don, allrighty!
He said he knows more about Mopars now than he ever wished he did!

I'm just trying to get the car running, so whatever control box that's on there is fine with me! I am very interested in your control boxes though.
Mind meeting me up at woodburn with one? Or is JR going to have them too?

I thought Woodburn was a 1/4 mile track. You aren't planning on stopping at half track are you?

IT's got a lope to it...

It's not real rough, but it has a definite lope in it, you know this small block is no sweet heart stock engine!!!

I like it...
