Default brake pushrod

finally getting around to finishing the disk brake swap and took the old booster off the firewall with the interior linkage intact. I was going to see if the old pushrod would fit into the new NON-POWER master cylinder but I can't get the rod out of the back of the booster, what's the hiccup??? No, I'm not drinking

It's got a "keeper" in there. You have to "jerk" it out. As I remember. Look closely with a flashlight. You should be able to see the plastic ring.

the front part of the rod with the adjustable screw part that goes into the master cylinder came out easily but the part with the eye-bolt end that the linkage connects to will not. I can't see into the back side of the booster as the eye-bolt part goes into a large plastic looking cylinder..... help

or second question... should I even be looking at this stuff?? Since I'm going from power to non-power should I just get the adjustable rod from ma mopar?? If so, which one?? I hear that there are two different diameter rods. I have a caliper that will measure .001 inch but the sizes listed are in standard inch measurements, like 32/64 or 1 11/16 stuff like that. Anybody pass math for the conversion???

32/64 th is actually 1/2 in or .500 ; 11/16 th is .6875.

Call you local Sears store or tool store and ask for a drill chart. That will give you the decimal equivalents. ie fraction and the decimal equivalent. Get a couple charts, one for the house and one for the garage. Maybe a couple extras for what ever reason you can think of. Keep one with your drills/drill motor. And one in your tool box. It can help to tell you which is bigger a 13/16 wrench or 27/32 wrench, for example.

If you get one with metric it will tell you the sizes compaired to fractions and decimals.

oh ya, to get the decimal equivent to a fraction devide the top number by the bottom number ie.;;; 11/16 11 divided by 16 = .6875
