Default h-pipe measurement?

finally getting around to installing my exhaust pipes from the collectors to the mufflers. How far back from the collectors should the h-pipe be?

For convinience, the H-pipe is normally placed towards the back of the tranny's tailshaft.

If I recall correctly, proper placement is 8 - 13 inches from the collectors.

Honestly, for most applications, an X-pipe is better.
