Default Shumacher Tri-Y question for 440 Dart.

Is anyone running the Tri-Ys in an A-body? I have looked at Mancini Racing for the TTI headers, but they dont work with power steering. Have any of you ran either on of these headers and does the Tri-Y fit as well as they claim. Thanks.

Yea
I have a 73 Duster with a 440. I used the whole Schumacher package which is the headers, mounts, torque strap. I have manual steering and manual brakes. The headers will fit both. The headers go on as easy as the headers on the small block that was in the car before. You can simply unbolt the header on the pass side and slide it out. The drive side require the engine t be lifted a bit. Plug clearance is good too. No burned plug wires unless you run them along the header flanges or tubes. The headers are the best made (quality) headers you can buy. There thich every were and do everything they say they will. The package cost between $700-800 depending on coating. Here look at this web site.

www.bigblockdart.com

They have good info on exhaust headers with big mill A bodys.

Hey how the hell are you changing your Avtar pic so well. I cant seem to get mine to work. I know that it cant be so big. I have HP digital CM that has software but still dont work. It keeps putting the $hitty ASE one in its place.

It took me a few trys each time I wanted to change it. I think I got it now. After you put in the url of the picture,[You can enter an URL of your avatar:
Note: this will be stored locally on the server]

or the location addy.[ You can upload an avatar from your computer:] of the picture in the lower box.

Then you have to recheck the box where it says to use a custom avatar. [Use custom avatar] [ O yes]

Seems to work that way for me.

Hey 6 Packin, I have a 72 Demon that I'm planning on setting up just like your car (drivetrain wise) you said that you have manual brakes, is that because it came that way or because there's not enough room for power? I have manual Drums all the way around but i was planning on switching it to front disc/power this weekend, should i just leave it alone? If you dont mind, drop me an email at strange246@attbi.com I have a few other questions for you...

Yea, it cane that way, With manual disc brakes. In 73 I have found many cars this was...weird option or standard deal wasnt it? It's a good deal really. My car stops pretty good for what it is.

It works great. Best thing is if your going 100 MPH and the engine dies, your not fighten a 2 ton sled on ice for stopping power.
