Lot's of chrysler products of the 60-70,s had no front sway bar. Very common of the low line cars not to have one.

My 94 sundance has no passenger side mirror. I wonder how much extra the mirror was, and why Chrysler considered this as an option, and not a standard feature.

It was more common for Mopars, up till the mid 70's, to NOT have any swaybars than to have them. Sounds like someone has more GM experience than Mopar.

My 71 Charger came originally with:
Gold poly Paint
Green Interior
White vinyl Front roof
383 2 barrel
Auto on column
cruise control
A/C
Power Drum Brakes
No Sway bars
Left and right mirrors
2.45 rear gears

The orig eng is on a stand now has a 383 mag from another rusted out charger I have and the vinyl top was taken off and the top was painted semi-gloss black. It looks and runs much better. Larry

don't know how wierd it really is, but i've never seen a ram optioned (or lack thereof) like my truck. only options are cloth seat, chrome rims and bumpers, two tone paint, tach, 5.2L, and anti spin diff. everything else is base ST issue. fine with me, less stuff to break. it's what a 4x4 truck should be. why do you need leather and vanity mirrors if it's to be used like it's supposed to be?

A friend of mine bought a Brown metallic challenger R/T witha 440 6-pac. Other than thinking the color was a BAD choice for a muscle car(seen any brown vipers latly??) the car had a colomn shifted 727 and buckets...
another friend of mine has a full sized dodge van with a 4 gear its an 82. 210,000 miles on the motor. They had it rebuilt at 170,000 and the machine shop said all it needed was new valve guides. They replaced the rings anyway and bolted it back together. My friend is an engineer so he is a little anal about things. He changes the oil every 3k miles or once a mounth. Right after church...I would guess his oil changing habits and the engine design have kept it in such good shape after 210,000 miles..
anyway Mopar to ya

Maxwedge,

When someone says Muscle car to me, I think they mean the 64-72 or so period cars. So no, by that definition a 78 Doba isn't a muscle car. What I think a muscle car isn't important, what's important is what the person talking about musclecars thinks. So I would guess that you'd think a 78 Doba is one. By that time period most Mopars have swaybars in the front and a rear one isn't uncommon. Why? Most cause of Isoclamp than anything else. Isoclamp isolated the suspension from the body with big fat rubber bushings and lot o' slop (tm) was introduced, So like GM, CC went to sway bars.

My 60 Imperial came loaded except...it had a radio delete option. On an Imperial.
I once bought a 69 Chrysler SW for parts, and it turned out to have a 383 with a dual snorkle, hi-flow exhaust, big rad, trans cooler, and a gas cap that said (memory??) "premium leaded gas only". I'm not sure it was all STOCK or not, to tell the truth!
My 40 Plymouth has an exterior door lock on ONLY the passenger side! I guess this was the thing, way back when.
My 56 Dodge 5 ton had radiator "blinders".

I'll quit now, don't want to bore!

All mopars could have a Sway bar but about half didnt. The A-bodies mostly didnt. Usually the slant six cars did not have swaybars and the big block cars did. The swaybar was an option on all cars was standard on some cars and not available on certain cars at all namely the seuper stock cars. All k-frames have a mounting position for sway bars.

Take for instance the 68 Barracuda
with /6 no swarbar unless ordered extra
with 318 same
with 340 (Formula S car) Swaybar part of Fornula S package
with 383 Same as with 340 this is also a formula S car
with 426 (Superstock car) no swaybar available due to this car was not meant for the street but for the dragstrip only.

Just FYI

My '98 QC is a v-10 5-speed (supposedly an unusual option). The '63 Belvedere I have was originally a 361 Commando 4-speed. My '74 Challenger Rallye 360 is a factory quadruple black car; black paint, black vinyl top, black interior and black stripes and unfortunately no A/C. My '69-1/2 RR 440-6bbl is an A4 Platinum silver ext. with A4 platinum deluxe bucket seat int. car. It also has: p/s but no pb, tach, console, RR decor group and is radio delete (look here-a front sway bar). According to GG records it is the only one known built in its' combination, anyone know of others.

Cool

I had a 98' Dakota reg. cab sport 2wd with every option DC had including V8/auto, CD, posi, heavy service etc. but didn't come with power mirrors. Kind of strange on a loaded truck. Not that I couldn't live without them. They also had a similar one on the lot without a posi rear.

The oddest option I can remember was on a car our dealership special ordered for an old farmer. He didn't trust automatic transmissions, so he ordered a Chrysler New Yorker, four door hardtop with everything except automatic. It was delivered with a three-speed manual and floor mounted Hurst shifter.

pretty common but still funny. I had a `73 Satellite with a clock face but no clock option. It looked crazy, just a clock face, no hands, just a space filler.
