Cool deal guys!! I heard this from my Cummins contact. The 5.7 Hemi that we all saw in the Chrysler 300C is going into production and will replace the 5.9 in the Dakota and the full size trucks. They also have another V-6 that is in development that will replace the current Magnum V-6. This one is to be a 3.7 OHC motor that should spank the current 3.9’s power numbers.

So this is the deal, the current 4.7 will be the standard motor for most of the trucks with an optional 5.7 semi Hemi. Sounds good to me. Maybe a 5.7 in the new Charger?????

Apparently the 5.7 will have the same mounting set up as the current 5.9/5.2 so this motor should fit into some of our old applications. Granted the heads are quite wide so I don’t know about the fit, but I am sure someone will figure it out

And to anyone(Faard and Chebbie guys) who doesn't think that the 5.7 is a good idea then (in a french accent) I fart in your general direction and unclog my nose at you.

I hate to be a wet blanket guys, but don't you think most of this stuff belongs in the off-topic forum? The topics load slow enough as is.

well gary you are a wet blanket..and its all right..But I wasnt expecting a sorta SPANISH inquisition as far as the new Hemi goes. I saw this weekend Car and Driver TV had a whole segment dedicated to the new chrysler concept cars and one of them was the new 300c. The engine in it was a 4.7 liter made to look like the dual plug hemi(it even had the valve covers with the appropriate hole for the plugs)but the plugs werent there. After seeing that I had the feeling that the 5.7 liter, in emmisions trim hasnt seen the road and that then leads me to belive that the quoted 350bhp was a number chrysler pulled right out of there pervebial butt. I hope it does put out that much BUT NOBODY EXPECTES A SPANISH IQUISITION

Closer to 373ci, I heard 6.7 or 6.8L though...I guess we'll all find out when/if it happens .
