Confused How will these heads work?

I think these will do. I guess they are the 974s, I bead blasted this port and I think they look pretty good. much smoother than a stock casting and quite a bit larger to boot.

bowls and combustion chambers

exhaust port

intake port

I just want something that will flow well to .550 lift, I plan on runnin some 11/32 chevy valves with the back cuts and tapered stems for better flow and a 5 degree valve job.

Heads look nice but the ports could use some more polishing. use 80 grit (nothing finer) on the intakes and mirror polish the exhaust and combustion chambers

yeah, I guess they sat on a shelf for 12 years, so they could use some polishing...

seems decebt, although it's hard to say from the picture.Would propably do more bowl work on the intake and short sides on both ports, but those should be decent even the way they are.

Use the backcut nail head valve on the intake and the 1.625" semi-tulip head exhaust valves.
I think the short side radius and maybe the pushrod pinch area could use more work, but it's hard to tell from the photos.

It does look like you lowered the exhaust floor quite a bit? Remember to match up the exhaust headers/manifolds to the port.
