Subframe Connectors
Shopping around for some pre-fabricated weld-in style subframe connectors for my 68 Barracuda, does anyone know what company makes them for my car? also i need a driveshaft loop, but i figure a universal one should work fine. Thanks.

i see subframe connectors listed in summit catalog for 119.69 . south side machine part # ssm-1407. they are listed for 68-70 dart, 70-76 duster , your year barracuda fits in with those a-bodies, so i imagine that they will fit yours as well.

Sorry, one more question, is my car the 108'' or 111'' wheel base, it lists two different part #'s on mancini's page for A body cars. Thanks again.

I cannot speak for the specific connectors in summit or mp's, but I heard that many "weld in" connectors require you to cut the floor of the car. you might do better making your own, or buying some "bolt in" connectors, installing, and then welding to reinforce.
I saw an article in one of the mopar only mags a while back where they made their own. just took some square stock and cut it to length, opened up the front of the rear frame rail, slipped it in, butted the front against the torsion bar crossmember, welded it all up. they made it sound real simple of course, but if you have access to a welder, you could do the job for under 40 bucks (a lot less, I think) |

that's why i recommended the SSM ones in summit, they say they hug the floorboards and require no cutting of floorpans.

I can atest to that. I have a set of summit racings sub conectors on a Duster. After bolt in I welded them so, they are there for life now. Work great too and up against the floor and out of the way too.

I made a set for a Challanger and it took better part of a day. I bought a set of the Mopar Performance ones for a Road Runner and it took a little over an hour to weld them in. There is no cutting required.

bigblockdart.com hast a great tech article on making your own. Following that article, a good body shop should be able to make them and weld them in for under $100.

The b-body kits stops at 72 1/2, Would the e-body kit fit a 73 b-body?
