Saw an article in the Detroit News that reported the great "Leader" in the Fatherland has sent his number one financial wizard back to the US to fix Chrysler's financial woes. Looks like the budget axes are in the sharpening process.

I wonder what that means for programs like the Charger, Hemi 300, Winston Cup racing and replacements for the Ram and Dakota? My guess is Cup racing will be severely cut, Charger and 300 will be cancelled and Dakota redesign moved back at least two years.

It's almost getting to the point where I'm wishing DCX would sell their Chrysler division to another company that was run by managers, not dictators. The German culture never has understood North American culture and markets, and never will.

Shrempf's way of running things reminds me or our old first sergeant's way of spreading holiday cheer. He once posted a notice on the squadron bulletin board which read: "You WILL have a Merry Christmas!"

I thought the C side of DC was reeling in huge profits? We've had record sales and growth for several years in a row. Maybe this whole oil "crisis" has the german panties in a wad...

After earning roughly 1 billion dollars in each recent quarter, the Chrysler Group posted a 500 million dollar loss last quarter. Stock is at an all-time low, despite some analysts calling it a real bargain. Stuttgart can't figure out what's going on, but any Mopar fan on this forum could set them straight in about 30 seconds.

Haven't heard much about cuts on the FAT D SIDE of DC. Bob Eaton and cronies, you ruined a great company.

Seems to me like all that profit finds it's way overseas, and never get's reinvested on our side of the pond... Just a thought.

Latest rumor is that the 300N Hemi convertible and Charger have been axed.

Check http://www.car-truck.com/chryed/buzz/b102300.htm and http://www.car-truck.com/chryed/buzz/b102000.htm

It's now official, as I've read the report in the mainstream news sources.

Guess my month-old prediction was fairly accurate. That comes from spending over 30 years in a large manufacturing company. I know how management thinks, and stockholders react. Do something fast to make it look like you are brilliant, then worry about the future. With luck, you can blame the stupid decisions of today on someone else tomorrow.

Oh well, A car they don't make is a car the don't sell. Too bad. I was looking forward to the Charger and other new items. Althought I am a truck guy it is disappointing. Let me put it this way, if they stop making Rams then bye bye DC look out other car companies here comes my business!!

Of they are producing a RWD Intrepid(which they are) and they are producing a 354 Hemi..it would seem odd if they didnt add the two together..reguardless of what they call It I wouldnt doubt seeing a RWD v-8 from Chrysler.

I have read in a few places (more official than Car+Truck) that The Super Big SUV is dead and the cherooke and the convertable Hemi 300C have been cancelled or moved back.
Due to Jergan Shremps(or whatever that dudes name is) Buying frenzy over the past year.
And CHryslers sales weakness.
Note however the CHarger RT, New 300 series Hard top OR new RWD LHS sedan were mentioned in any of the reports(from Yahoo or Reuters).
Maybe there is still hope for RWD 5-6 speed Hemi fun!!!!!!!!!
