C/E Slide-a-link?
Have any one use this? Do you like it? I was looking at this because I bought my car with "slapper bars" and I don't really care for it.
Thanks George |

Try the Cal-Tracs! They work exactly the same way and are a bit less expensive. Nothing against C/E, I use alot of their other
stuff. But the Cal-Tracs have been around for a while longer than the C/E's and everyone that's had them has been happy. |

Ok if the others are junk? What do you recomend for a Gen3 Dakota running a Supercharged 408, Automatic, 13.5x30slicks with 3.92 gears.
They don't make a SS spring for the Daks. |

Landrum does and so do others. If it's bad enough a ladder bar set up is cheapest and easier to install than a 4 link. But the 4 link has better finer tunning. Anotehr good set up would be a nascar type truck arm set up. Have a road race car that's fixing to get this set up in my shop now. You can set it up with big coils or coil over shocks. This ones getting the big coils.

A friend has the Slide-A-Links on his 350 S-10. They work great for him! He runs mid 10s.

I really want to take off my slapper bars but I don't have the bottom plates to put on when I take the bars off. I bought the car with them and the guy can't seem to find them . Any suggestions?

CAL-TRAC AND C/E SLIDE-A-LINKS ARE BOTH GOOD SET UPS, BUT BOTH MAY NOT BE RIGHT FOR YOUR CAR. DEPENDING ON WHAT CAR YOU ARE PUTTING THEM ON, THE CAL-TRACS MAY BIND UP THE SPRINGS. WHAT IS THE FRONT/REAR SPLIT ON YOUR LEAFS COMPARED TO WHERE THE HOUSING IS....IF THE FRONT IS VERY SHORT, LIKE MY '65 B-BODY, THEN THE CAL TRACS ARE A BAD CHOICE. THE PIVOT ANGLE IS BAD. ITD BE KINDA LIKE RUNNING LEAFS AND LADDER BARS W/O HOUSING FLOATERS.
THE C/E BARS ARE RIDGED MOUNT FRONT AND REAR, BUT THE ELASTOMER IN THE MIDDLE FOR PRE-LOAD HELPS AND MAKES THEM THE BETTER CHOICE. LIKE THE RACER SAID..SORRY, CANT THINK OF HIS NAME,...THE PROPER LEAFS FOR THE CAR, AND A GOOD ADJUSTIBLE PINION SNUBBER WOULD MAKE YOU JUST AS HAPPY. ALL THIS IS OF COURSE MY BELLY BUTTON...I MEAN OPINION. |

dwc43 4-links
I have been interested in doing a 4-link but all i've seen is the stuff they sell in Jeg's/Summit. With those kits you have to Back-Half your frame.
Is there a 4-link available for racing that can be installed with-out cutting the frame. I see low-riders do 4-links all the time but I wouldn't think of using those for racing. I'll try to look up Landrum on the NET and see what they have. Thanx for any help. |

I can set you up three different ways. Truck arms like nascar runs. The have adjusting holes at the front mounts, but are heavy. Run a cross member from frame to frame for mount s and add ladder bars. Cheaper and lighter than truck arms. A little more adjustable and the easiest to install. OR weld in a cross member and run the 4 link. More adjustablity or fine tunning I shoud say. Cost more and more time consumming to install.
I have all of these parts in stock if you need a price quote on them. |
