I guess you need a Dell and a Norton anti virus program and e-mail anti virus program. My Dell came with Norton included.

OK...I got it...My Norton grabbed that dammed worm by the tail and beat it into submission...then squished that little POS.

Anyhow it seems to be all clear now...

It came from "nsw.optusnet.com.au"

Anyone have that type of adress?...check your system.

We're back up and running....

..and a good time was had by all......

I was ready to race friday night...Tom (AMX) eased me into the box and let 'em have a .501 on the 1st pass...heheheheee

Came back for the 2 nd time trial and gave 'em a .505...double heheheeee

"So whens the Cash bash start"..."No free racing for you tonight, we're not going to run one"

What!....300 miles drive all this sitting around in 100 degree heat for a test and tune?.....I've got 1700 passes on this car I don't need anymore T&T...$&(&)&^**..

I did make a couple of more passes just to see what it would do as the sun went down....556 with the sun in my eyes, tack runs into the setting sun, and a .526 after it got dark...I hate it when I'm on the money and nobody wants to race...

Saturday was a disaster to say the least I changed the tune up and it didn't work out so good.......

Never got in a clean pass.....somehow started out in 2nd gear in the 1st round and lost with a .534 light to a .684...pityfull display of drag racing ...glad no one was there to see me screw up beyond reality....how could I be so stupid and make such a rookie mistake....

i use AVG antivirus... it has caught everything that has come to me, it checks for updates regularly, scans my system daily.

best of all... it is absolutely FREE!!!

not sure of the url... try a search. if you cant find it that way, let me know... i have it somewhere

ok... had to go find it... check at: http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm

also, i use zone alarm, a software firewall. better than nortons and mcaffees offerings, and it is also free

ok, i'll tell you... 5,011 viruses! they weren't real big, or dangerous, but they took up a lot of resources and the computer went real slow! took about 2 hours for it to get rid of em all, and once it did, crap worked better and went faster!

for the price ($$FREEBIE$$), AVG is DAMNED good!

coming from a computer tech (me)

My personal opinion is just get a copy of any antivirus software, free or not and keep the virus deffinitions UPDATED. Also, if you don't know who the email is from or it looks like it came from some fake email account just delete it. If you use Microsuck Outlook Express turn off the auto preview so that the email if it has an attachment doesn't get auto download when you click on it.

Open outlook express and go to ...tools-options-read.... then uncheck "automatically download message when viewed in preview pane"

i can give more tips if anyone is interested.

should be fine as long as you update the virus deffinitions for it.
inside your norton antivirus program or in your start menu there should be some update button you can click on and it will download the latest and greatest deffinitions.

i know there are gonna be those that disagree with me, and some will think that cause AVG and zone alarm are freeware they cant be any good, but the folks at Ziff-Davis (ZDTV and ZDNet, both part of CNet) swear by these programs. zone alarm is rated as the highest (best) software of its kind, period. and AVG is also rated in the top handful of antivirus programs. it just doesnt have all the junk that nortons and mcaffee have (which messes up my puter BIG TIME) like all those utilities that are supposed to streamline your desktop or make your puter "better". and even if these programs only stop ONE virus or ONE hack attempt, they have paid for themselves.
had some guy that was real desperate to get into my puter... tried 2 or 3 times a day for about 4 months... zone alarm stopped him cold... lol. this guy wasnt an amatuer, either, he managed to hack the microsoft passports of several of my friends, mine included... but he did not get into my puter.

Dell is awesome if the person needs support I work for an ISP and we have to send people to them when it comes to hardware (liability) and they are dang good at fixing their probs. Most routers don't do virus protection they are mainly for blocking ports which allow acces to the comp from outside if a person knows what they are doing and unless you have a "always on connection" you don't need a router or firewall unless your paranoid a virus scanner is plenty. On dialup especially firewalls are the devil they bind with TCP/IP and if you mess with TCP without disabling the firewall first expect some fun
