360 Et?
Hey guys, after reading some of the estimated ET's in previous threads, I was wondering if anyone could help me with similar info. I have the Australian equivalent of a 69 Dodge Dart running a '73 360 & 727. Details are:
Bored 60 thou over 9.8:1 comp. pocket ported factory heads 2.02 in/1.6 ex valves MP purple shaft 484/284 cam Thermoquad carb RPM Air Gap intake 1 5/8 inch headers dual 2 1/2inch exhaust with X-pipe shift-kitted 727 with 3000 stall 3.23 rear gears & 15 inch wheels What sort of 1/4 mile times could I expect? This car does a lot of street driving but is not a daily driver. Is this convertor too much?? Any help is much appreciated. Cheers, James, Sydney, Oz. |

I would say mid to high 13 sec times, depending on traction. The converter is fine its the gears that need swaped. I would run a 3.55 gear minumal with a 27 inch tall tire max. 3.91 and some wide sticky tires will bring it down near the 13/12 sec barrier. still keeping tire height down around 27 inchs will help..........295/50/15's are good street strip tires...may have clearance problems also.

15 inch wheels? What about the tires size? Thats key info.
Also the weight. I'd give it about the same. Low 13's to mid 12's with gear change and depending on the factors of the day and car. Alt. air quality, tune of engine and the suspension set up. And of course, tires. Dia, + width. Converter looks good. More gear needed. |

Tyre sizes are 225/60/15, air quality - sea level or close enough, as for weight I have no idea - what does a stock '69 Dodge Dart weight - 3500lbs?? and stock suspension. Cheers, James.
