Yeah, my old car hauler 440 will be stubborn sometimes and a lifter or two won't pump up right away after sitting for a couple of weeks. Guessing that some are holding a valve at or near max lift while parked and bleed down and stick due to varnish or the like. Has 320K mi so in my case it has earned it. Doesn't take long for them to quiet down usually, once a little temp gets in they stop like someone flipped a switch.

Sometimes the lifter bore will be worn and that can happen.
