Exclamation Stroker 1; rice-boy 0

Friday nite, I'm washing the Truckie-Pooh and there's a 20-ish guy with a Civic CR or something with a wing and band-aid tires etc. etc. etc. He's tellin' his buddy HOW BAD his car is...musta watched the movie 15 times. So I leave to drive up the expressway to knock the water-off and air-dry Pooh. He whips in front of me, so I figure he's game. I floor-board it: I leave about 2-3 truck lengths of rubber on the on-ramp and all-the-sudden I'm nearly against his wing and he's trying to find a gear to accelerate with. First time I've rev'ed to the limiter(5200 RPM). I was over 100 at the end of the 1/4 mile ramp from say 25. First time I've ever scared myself in the Dakota. This hog makes some NOISE above 3500. Fat old farts can still surprise you....

So what exactly do you have in your Dak? A rebuilt and stroked 360 with an M1 and other goodies?

Grey Ram, I've got a 390 stroker(5.2 based) from Hughes engines, really set-up for towing. I do have their stageIII TB and a Tobs440 mod'ed intake, and the mildest Hughes cam. A BB might out bottom-end me, but the stroker sure does run when she hits 3000 RPM and up. Really about 3200 the "after-burner" kicks in and things happen fast. I'm still debating putting 4.10 gears in...might be too much of a good thing!
