Default Carter Carb Tuning help?

Does anyone have any basic tuning information for a Carter Carb? Maybe a web site suggestion?

I have never tuned a carburator so VERY BASIC info. is all I am looking for right now.

The carb is in a 1977 Cordoba-400 4bbl. I have reason to believe everything is stock.

Thanks for your help.

I think its whatever MA Mopar put on it at the factory

Car has been sitting for I dont know how long, maybe over a year. I will have to replace the gas tank and lines due to rust. I have "assumed" that this probably would cause some problems in the carb even though there was a fuel filter between the pump and the carb

BTW-The guy I bought it from said he thought it need a fuel pump-I dont think so cause when I ran a line from a 12oz. bottle filled with gas , to the pump , and turned it over , the old 400 fired and within a few seconds, the bottle waas empty and the 400 shut down. (and there was a heck of alot of white smoke
The next time I went to work on the car, I forgot to get a 5 gal. fuel tank so I backed the Challenger up to it and ran the fuel line down into the Challengers tank. It would not run for any amout of time this time. I could see gas shooting up out of the carb but it would not crank. I am guessing this is refered to as 'flooding it"

anyway-I will be working on it again tomorrow and I'm working on my plan of attack.

step one-pick up 2gal fuel tank and fill it up before going to gaurage

step two...........

And that reminds me-I did do a google search for Fuel Tanks but no luck there
Paddock does not list the Cordoba and autozone and car quest dont have them

ANyone have a link for a FUEL TANK

Thanks for any suggestions
(and I do plan to stroke the 400!)
THanks to this board and a friend in Rockingham!

Pick up a CLEAR fuel filter to see what that pump picks up.

IF it is a TQ ....the accel pump has probably dried up.........just let some gas sit in it for a few hours and it should work fine.

If gas was shooting out of it, that would sound like a stuck float.
