Default 1/4 mile Question...

Somebody tell me if this guy is full of crap:

Ford Lightning claiming 430 RWHP & 560 RWTQ..I can believe that.
But he is also claiming his Lightning does the 1/4 in 11.58 at 112.3x mph...in a pimped out 4400+ pound truck.

Am I missing something here? Cause if he can do that, the new Viper Should be doing 10s in the .25.....

Somebody help me out here...I picked this up on the F150 Chat while entertaining myself with all the Lightning/Ford Nightmare stories.

Glad I'm a Mopar fan....

there was a lightening at our track two weeks ago.

It pulled a 14.6. Keep in mind we're at 3500 ft here.

doubt it the Lightnings are quick but unless he has $20k and EVERYTHING balanced and some big ol slicks he's probably not getting close. Who knows. Fords are crap.

I don't think so. He would definately need slicks or very sticky tires. That 430 RWHP number is awful high unless it's a really worked over motor. And the truck would also have to have some weight reduction done, that ain't gonna happen at 4400+ pounds. Unless he is spraying it on top of everything else. You know how those Ferds are. Hose it 'till you blow it unless you only show it.

I saw a red Ferd Lightning pull 12.15's at Byron Raceway in Illinois about two weeks ago.

What about Brew-ick Grand Nationals? Those are fast too.

Remember, we're talking about power adders here. These could be much faster than normally aspirated motors.
