Default Need opinions on new torsion bars and new leafs

I'm tired of the soft suspension. This car is a nice weather driver with 440,4speed, blow proof bell, (I.e. heavy front end). I did lighten it some with lift off glass hood. I have 318 bars on it now. What should I go with? I'm thinking .920. As for the back I've had a sagging right leaf that i've been leveling with an air shock. It's time to fix it. What should I go with there? Do leafs come in different spring rates?

O.k. heres a good set up to get it to handle like it should. Go up only one size in t bars and rear spring rate. They need to stay matched so you dont put the car into over or understeer which you will hate both. Keep them soft. Mopars dont really like the stiff springs and T bars. Now install a front and rear sway bar. 1 1/8th up front and a 3/4 to 1" rear bar. Now it will handle just as good if not better than those ricers you see running around. I've set up many a race car and I promise you'll like it if you use this sset up. Soft on springs and T bars and heavy on the sway bars.

I agree with the swaybars but, however, unless you are going to be racing this car on a regualr basis, you want the .92 or .96 torsion bars and the HD rear springs.

Another thing that will really help is to get a body shop to fabricate some sub-frome connectors (as seen on bigblockdart.com ). The unibody has seen a lot of abuse in its time and the sub frame connectors will stiffen up the body.

Very true E. Sub frame connectors are a great investment and really help to increase handling. The more flex you can remove from any chassis will greatly increase the handling ablities.

Just as I wrote this post I took demon for a ride and striped the torsion bar adjustment bolt Bolt shot out of there like shot gun. Bout killed the guy on the motorcycle behind me. I guess I had them bars cranked up. I've already done the homemade frame connectors. If I go with the .920 bars how do I know what spring rates they are to match the rears? Does MP give out that info on there bars?

Red face

If you put new bars in the car, make sure you put them in correctly they don't interchange from R to L (new ones should be marked.)
