I know a guy that has the TKO-II behind a 650 HP Hemi. He loves the tranny.

The TKO-I is fine for the majority of us. Shafi has taken a good tranny and made it far better. It's a great setup, if you have the cash.

Has The Guy With The Hemi Ever Raced It With Slicks At The Dragstrip?? Full Throttle Speed Shifting??
I'd Hate To Spend That Kinda Cash, And Start Breaking Trans Parts...

I know that he has done some 1/8 mile racing (we don't have a 1/4 mile track in the area), and it has held up with no problems.

Remember, the Tremec TKO-I and TKO-II trannies are very strong units to begin with. Shafi removes the weak parts, installs better parts and then mods them for the correct shifter locations. These do NOT start life as the weak T5 tranny.

Shafi has put a lot of R&D work into these trannies and so far I have not heard or read a single complaint about these units.

Check out Stephen Durr's website http://users.anet.com/~sdurr/ . He's got the TKO-II behind his 440 that he keeps building stronger. The TKO-II is holding great for him.

thats a beautiful car!! i wouldn't mind a fuel injection system like that with twin turbo's, but still, i'm partial to roots blowers poking their heads (air cleaners) out of holes in hoods

gee, sounds like he's having troubles with engines too, course, he's goin for a lot more power etc than i am, and he's got a supercharger.

thanx for the link E!

I really like the way that he was put that site together. It's too bad that he doesn't have his email address up there.

Cool web site. Even cooler car! Did you notice how clean the tops of the pistons and cylinder bores were? Does this guy ever drive this car or just work on it? I gotta' question using the bolts to pull the trans into the bell housing though. Everything I was tought in trannyman 101 said if a trans or bell housing doesn't go up flush on its own something is wrong. Things can get bent or broke using this method.

i just spent alot of time looking at that challenger web site. man, does that guy have deep pockets or what?? i feel bad for all the problems he's encountered, but it makes me feel good that i'm not the only one. i love the supercharger setup and if i had the cash i would do it to. but i would stick with a carb, alot cheaper easier to setup. i remember the magazine article with the SD Concepts orange challenger, w/360 supercharged through the carb he was running 11's .

if i ever run a procharger, or turbo similar to that, i'd save up for fuel injection just because it's actually easier on the whole system. a carb isn't made to be pressurized and you can run into problems, causing bad running conditions...

NOW...for all out power, and go stuffs! i do preferr my carb over fuel injection, only cause most fuel injection vehicles have emissions junk all over!! i hate emissions! glad i live in kansas!!

Does the floor pans have to be modified to install this tranny? Haven't looked at the site yet.

i don't think so. they have a complete conversion kit to go from auto to their manual, which includes:
bellhousing
shifter
trans
driveshaft
cross member
clutch
pedal box
all hyd components

all you would have to do is run the hyd lines (and mount everything), cut a hole in the hump for shifter, and install the trans from what i read!

when i get the money saved up, this is the first thing i'll change to my driveline! then probably tubs and a ladder bar. THEN....maybe i'll go win some races and get more $$bling-bling$$ (and a job), and put a bds blower+bds cam in the thing

shit, i'm dreamin again...

Never mind, I found the answer on the http://users.anet.com/~sdurr/. Looks like something I'd like to do when I can afford it. Does Keisler have an SFI approved flywheel and bell housing?

Some bodies will require the addition of the 4-speed hmp (that he will include with that kit). It's very easy to install.

The Keisler bellhousing has never been sent out for SFI approval. For an extra cost, he will provide a Lakewood bellhousing.

He does have a variety of flywheels that you can go with. Some of them are SFI approved.

My Cuda is a 4 speed car, so hump is not necessary. Thanks for the info, ehostler.
