Default 2bbl -> 4bbl Swap: Linkage Solutions??

Greetings,

Time to finally get around to swapping the 2bbl on my '79 Chrysler for a Thermoquad. I had picked up the linkage off mid 80's Diplomat with a Rochester but now that I look at it, where the kick-down lever attaches is different. Unfortunately, I didn't pick up the other kickdown lever. Is there anything offered by Edelbrock or elsewhere that will allow me to use my old kickdown lever?

Thanks for your time,

-Lance

When I put the tq on my car in place of the 2barrel I kinda bent the stuff around to make the kickdown fit. Not very much at all.(The bracket that bolts to the intake ) I did however make a seperate bracket to hold the throttle cable.

The top linkage that goes between the carb and the pivot is different between the thermoquad and quadrajet.

The pivot bracket that the throttle cable bolts to is also different but the 2bbl one can be modified to make it work right.

I know somewhere I seen theres a company out there reproducing the correct 4bbl linkage. I seen it, but can't remember where. Soorrrrryyyy.

Otherwise, I have used the 2bbl linkage on Holleys and Carter AFB/AVS carbs. All that is neededsmall nut bolt and a pair of washers to manually adjust and hold the rod.

Use the 2 bbl. mount for the throttle cable and use a Lokar cable set up for the kick down. Much simpler and easy install with the cable.

Yep, I've looked at the Lokar kit on their web site. Summit has it for $54 which is less than I've paid for fabrication work in the past. I'll take your comment as a vote in favor of the kit. I'll probably go that route when I order the intake.

Thanks!
