Oil hole in main bearing caps?
Bought a nice shiny set of clevite 77 main bearings, but was a little confuesed to see that the block AND the caps bearings both had provisions for an oil hole, that is except for one of them. My understanding was that you wanted it dry between the bearing and the block for heat transfer? Is it ok to have oil holes in the main bearing cap?

Won't hurt anything.

Talked to the Clevite Tech Help Line about this. It is being done to reduce SKUs(Stock Keeping Units). In other words-To Save $. For limited performance applications, it probably won't hurt.
