I wouldnt run w/ the air box cover off on my 2000 neon because i was going to do it once at the track but the stock filter just didnt look like it was going to stay put. It would pretty much suck if the filter came loose while driving. I dont have that problem anymore though because i got the iceman now, i recommend it highly.

If you want to run a really good cold air set up,the iceman cold air intake seems to be the hot ticket so far. You can get one from Modern Performance

www.modernperformance.com
Also, along with the cold air intake you'll want to get a larger throttle body as well. (More flow equals more go) You can get a 55mm throttle body from Howell Automotive

www.howellautomotive.com
You see a 10-15hp increase between the larger throttle body, and the cold air intake.
