383 transplant to A-body...difficult?
Hi again,
I was just wondering how hard it would be to transplant a 1970 383 into a /6 72 dart custom? Right now im running a 318 and putting that in took all of two days, what with the welding and all. But I've read in other places that the 383 CAN fit only with headers and the power steering might get in the way. I recently purchased a 1970 Superbee with a 383magnum 727 with 8 3/4 rear for $100 (score huh??). Not sure if the 383 even runs but is it worth dropping in my 318 powered dart? As it stands I've run a 15.2@94 with my 2.79 gearing but I know im changing the stock /6 rear to that 8 3/4...will my times improve at all? Also the car I bought came with N50's for the rear, how can I make those fit? Any tips for a clean bigblock swap? thanks! |
