Unhappy 69 pulley failure...i'm grounded

Well my fan/water pump pulley packed it in yeasterday. Found one at the wreckers off a 72 Valiant with a 318...was shaped different but the bolt holes were the same. For $4 what the hell...bolted up fine but the power steering belt rubs on it. The neck on mine is shaped like a beer can (69)...Everthing from 70 up is conical shaped...I tried Mancini who has March pulleys but they only have them fro 70 up...Same from every other site i've tried....Was told to try using the complete set of pulleys and the power steering pump from the same 318....It seems like this would work. Any thoughts?....Mine is a 340 ps, non a/c....the suns shinin and i'm in the barn!

I had a problem with the wrong pulleys on my 74 360, I kept throwing the alternator belt. I live in northern Illinois and am close to a place called Mopar City, which is a junkyard (heaven) for Mopars. I got the right pulleys but they were expensive (200.00) They are located in Oregon Illinois and are in the phone book. Hope this helps.

Your best bet is to get a complete set of pullys off a bone yard engine. Or spend lots of man hours walking around the bone yard pully in hand, tape measure and capilars in hand. LOL

I have done all that 23T ....no luck...I picked up a power steering pump with a smaller pulley on it and will try it out tommorrow....the only water pump pulleys I can find are conical shaped, I need a can shaped one. All the engines have the lower rad hose on the passenger side, of course mine is on the drivers....aaarrgh!

Check out National Moparts in Ontario. He's a wreckign yard and he sells new stuff and he's been decent to me. I've gotta track down a manual steerign box and that oilpan has to go, it hangs lower then the headers, I put 7L of oil in it and it still reads low! Not sure if I should go stock or moroso or something

I picked up a pulley from a guy on another mopar link. From a guy in Oklahoma! I wired him the shipping money so it should be here next week. Thank god for PCs.....Why not see if you can find a used one and clean it up? Get the windage tray though. I just picked up this parts interchange manual from 68-74 so if you need any #s let me know. Its a must have book.
