Cam key's and timing
If a cam is installed with , say a 4*advance key, does this affect the way you see the timing mark when checking it on a running car ?

No, you are changeing the position of the cam in relation to the crank. The ignition timing marks will not be affected by this.

No, a change in cam timing at the cam sprocket will not change the cranksahft timing marks. Top dead center is still top dead center. If you use an offset key on the crankshaft sprocket and balancer, then yes, the timing marks will be off.
