is it comming out the top of the tube or out the edges of the bottom where it goes into the tranny?? Sometimes the rubber o ring at the bottom of the tube gets cracked/wore and then nothing will keep the fluid in after it gets shut off as everything drains back to the pan and is way above the pan line when properly filled while running. If I remember right its like 18 qts or so for the tranny and convertor. Even the extra deep truck pan on my 727 wouldn't hold anywhere near that much..............

The Trans-Go "No Yo-Yo" kit addresses the 727/904's fluid drainback dilema. It has a redesigned control valve that stops the drain back on shutdown. It is addressed as: " The problem is when you start the car and drop it in gear, there is a delay in the car actually moving since the convertor is filling up with fluid, and not transmitting torque to the transmission. This redesigned Control valve stops the drainback, and gets your transmission moving right away.." Or something like that, that is from memory but it does have some valid points. Of course this should not be used as a crutch for a leaking filler tube O-ring or speedo pinion seal, but it is just an FYI

Had the same problem with our 727. It took two tries but we replaced the o-ring and used gasket sealer around the tube. It has to be dry and clean when installed.

trans is overfull or the 'o' ring on the dipstick tube is faulty.

OVERFILLING THE A-727 TRANSMISSION IS A NO-NO!!! it will cause overheating and a very early death for the transmission!!!
