For what little info given; the rocker ratio at that lift of cam, go with 1.5. Or you may have trouble with hitting the top of the pistons.
Rods; just get them for solid lifters and 3/8 dia. This is of course for starters. Now you need to tell us all the other stuff you're going to do. Starting with; What are you going to use the car for? |

With the stock '68 flat top pistons (no valve relief) I doubt you can run the .557 lift. The .509 hyd and the .528 mech are pushing it, just have to do some measureing to be sure you won't have parts getting too familiar with each other.

In my 440 with 906's the block has not been decked and I have domes with a 255-255 @50 525 525 lift cam with 1.6 roller rocker, making the lift around 555 555. with no clearance problems. (flat tops my be different)
As to 1.5 or 1.6 I went with the 1.6 but I have heard that 1.5 are about the same performance wise. the only effect between the two is one makes more lift. If price is an issue stay with the 1.5 so you can keep the standard lenght push rods and the ductal arm are alot less than rollers. If you need to get a clearance of the piston to valve you can due a clay test. |
